Phsycilogical Effects of Alcohal

There are many physiological effects of alcohol that many people aren't aware of. Alcohol is a depressant, there for it messes with the chemicals in your brain. Your brain needs the perfect balance of chemicals to operate properly. When alcohol enters the body it effects neurotransmission it can also effect your thoughts, feelings and actions. Many people believe that alcohol makes you happier but large amounts of it will actually make you depressed and even aggressive. Alcohol can also increase anxiety. When you drink you cause your perception of situations to become smaller. Because of this you may see situations in a more stressful way than they are actually being presented to you. Another side affect of drinking is depression. Alcohol is a depressant and confuses your brain by adding a chemical wich makes you more depressed. This is a big problem because many people turn to alcohol to ease there depression and anxiety but in reality it is just making the problem worse. Another physiological effect of alcohol is self harm and suicide. Because alcohol confuses your brain and can cause you to act and behave impulsively. It could cause you to hurt yourself without you thinking of the consequences. The final physiological effect of alcohol is memory loss. Drinking alcohol slows down your brain process and in pares your memory. This is also why many people wake up after drinking and can not remember anything.
